Misr El Kheir Announces 13.9 Million Healthcare Services and Reveals a Comprehensive Expansion Plan Across Governorates

14 April 2026

Misr El Kheir Foundation launched several initiatives at its headquarters in Cairo, including a blood donation campaign and a medical testing lab targeting the foundation’s employees to promote the concept of prevention through early disease detection. These efforts were carried out in parallel with executive offices across various governorates, in celebration of World Health Day, observed globally on April 7 each year.

Through its blood donation campaign, Misr El Kheir aims to support blood banks and central laboratories of the Ministry of Health. The foundation’s employees actively contributed by donating blood and undergoing comprehensive medical check-ups. This initiative also celebrates the foundation’s success in delivering 13.9 million healthcare services to citizens over the past years.

It is worth noting that blood donation campaigns organized through the foundation’s offices in different governorates continue throughout the year to support the strategic reserve of safe blood, in cooperation with central blood banks. Efforts are intensified in universities, mosques, and main public squares to ensure the supply of approximately 15,000 blood bags annually.

Alongside these field efforts, the foundation implemented awareness sessions in all its community schools across the governorates. Students participated in educational activities aimed at promoting health awareness, including ways to maintain good health. These efforts seek to instill a culture of prevention and responsibility, and to reinforce the idea of preserving health as a scientific investment that ensures building a healthy, innovative society.

In this context, Dr. Mohamed Refai, CEO of Misr El Kheir Foundation, stated that the health sector is a top priority for the organization, emphasizing that its services complement and support government efforts. He added that the foundation adopts a sustainable vision aimed at developing the healthcare system and providing a decent life for Egyptian citizens, moving beyond temporary aid.

Dr. Afaf El-Gohary, Head of the Health Sector at the foundation, explained that the expansion of healthcare services is the result of donors’ trust and the tangible impact they witness on the ground—whether through medical convoys, dialysis services, provision of monthly medications, covering the costs of complex surgeries, or supporting people with special needs.

El-Gohary pointed out that reaching 13.9 million services over the past 18 years is a culmination of this trust. She also announced an expansion plan for the coming year, which includes increasing the number of medical convoys to reach remote and underserved areas. The plan also involves providing prosthetic devices, supporting hospitals with radiotherapy equipment, and continuing state-funded treatment decisions.

She concluded with an awareness message stressing the importance of regular check-ups and early disease detection as cornerstones of effective treatment. She called on everyone to embrace the vision “Our Environment is Our Health,” affirming that Misr El Kheir aims to go beyond service provision to spreading a culture of prevention and correcting misconceptions about health, in order to promote healthier lifestyles within society.
