Misr El Kheir Discusses Using Arts and Culture to Raise Climate Awareness
17 February 2026Participants in a seminar titled “Employing Art and Culture as Tools of Influence within NGOs to Enhance Climate Action,” organized by Misr El Kheir Foundation—a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work—discussed ways to modernize NGO mechanisms to spread environmental messages and promote positive behavioral change. The seminar was held as part of the Fayoum International Film Festival.
Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh, Head of NGO Development at the Foundation, highlighted the flexibility and vital role NGOs play in addressing environmental issues and influencing societal and climate awareness. He noted that Egypt has 38,000 NGOs and associations, which, if equipped to address environmental challenges and harmful behaviors, could significantly promote awareness and reduce environmental and health risks.
